Training Strategy

Training helps to boost the efficiency of the employees, as well as their morale. Hence, we can say that training directly affects productivity, positively. Employees who receive training that is designed to help them meet personal and professional goals tend to feel more valued.

Here are some facts about Training you need to know before deciding the training strategy-

  • The learner needs - Not met - Training should be customized for learners in an end-to-end manner, which is currently not happening in every training program.

  • Approach - Training isn't everything - Good training impacts the entire hierarchy; customers, employees, etc.

" An investment in knowledge pays always the best interest." -Benjamin Franklin

  • Ineffective Training costs money - In the future training outcomes need to become more measurable and learners should be able to apply the skills from the training to their job. Every employee is an asset; how each one contributes to the growth of the business should be identified and measured.

  • Employees want more Training - The goal of training is for employees to master the knowledge, skills, and behaviors emphasized in training programs and to apply them to their day-to-day activities. Employees now want more training in the hope that it would help them score better at the workplace.

But, what if there are no training programs in the organization?

Then, organisations need to develop a training program, for their valuable employees, with planning. Here are some of the basic steps to develop the training strategy :

  • Analyze the needs: What are my business goals? What type of skills and abilities do employees need to have?

  • Identify Skill Gaps: Which are the required skills and competencies? Are they lacking?

  • Prioritize It's a difficult task. Based on the available resources (specifically time and money), strategic decisions, and requirements of a particular skill, an entrepreneur needs to prioritize, without sacrificing the revenue.

  • Plan and deliver: best strategy will be useless if it isn’t executed properly, so it’s important to spent sufficient time dedicated to execution once the strategy is crafted.

Poor training may result in unwanted output and unnecessary consequences. So, there is no alternative available for the best suitable training strategy.
