Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) India organised the first webinar of the second edition of the Swavalamban Sashakt Webinar Series. It is a series of 20 webinars. The SIDBI’s(Small Industries Development Bank of India) Umbrella Mission Swavalamban, endeavours to induce entrepreneurship culture, regard women as mainstay influencers in the society. Shri V. Satya Venkata Rao, Deputy Managing Director of SIDBI formally inaugurated the second edition which was held virtually on Wednesday. 83 women entrepreneurs participated in the webinar.

Swavalamban Sashakt Campaign is a national level outreach program on the virtual platform with a series of immensely impactful and power-packed sessions to give a fillip to the Stand-Up India Scheme by the Government of India, wherein collateral-free loans are available to women-owned Greenfield ventures which meet the specified criteria.

Addressing the virtual audience, Mr. Rao said the entrepreneurial journey is challenging and is a web of uncertainties. But, COWE India has been doing a great job in creating awareness about entrepreneurship. It is spreading the spirit of the entrepreneurial journey. He appreciated its initiatives including the one on ease of doing business.

Speaking further he added that today’s world is full of digitalization. Digital transformation is the key to the success of MSMEs, VSV Rao said. Union Finance Minister also laid stress on this during the budget presentation recently, he informed.

Dr Shivalkar Yadav, Dy Director of Telangana Dairy Development Corporation explained opportunities in the Franchisee model in Dairy Products. Milk is a universally accepted product. India continues to be the largest milk-producing country. 209.96 million tonnes of milk was produced during the year 2020-21. India enjoys 23% of the share in milk production in the world he added. Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat are the top 5 milk-producing states in India. The per capita consumption of milk increased from 307 to 406 grams per day in the year 2019-2020. Explaining the utilization pattern of milk he said, the lion's share i.e 46% is consumed as milk which is followed by Ghee 28%, Butter and Curd 7% each.

She returned from the US and founded the company along with her husband with a passion to produce farm-fresh dairy products and bring them into our everyday lives. Our vision was to produce a healthy product range that we use in our day to day lives. With

that dream and vision formed the brand Absolute milk, she shared.

Things don’t fall in place. We make them fall in place. It is a tough journey. But, if you keep attempting sincerely, all things will fall in a place she added.

Sangita Reddy of Bank of India explained the Stand Up India scheme and how to borrow loans.

With the success of the first edition of the Swavalamban Sashakt Webinar series, we embarked on this second edition. The webinars are sector-specific and highly useful as against general in nature said Ms. Jyotsna, President of COWE Hyderabad Chapter.


Ms. Uma Gurkha, one of the founding members of COWE said we need an ecosystem for entrepreneurship to flourish and grow. We grew from 6 members to 1000 members, spread across 11 states, she added.

Vandana Maheshwari, National President of COWE said we guide and handhold women to migrate from unorganised to organised sector. COWE is a non-profit business organisation. Our vision is to be a national association of business owners. We are the only professional body to sign MoU with NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation) to take their program to grass-root levels. COWE mentored more than one lakh plus women in the past 17 years. We are establishing a dedicated 30-acre industrial estate, for women, the first of its kind in Asia, at Toopran, she shared


The first series of Webinars kicked off last year to promote STAND-UP INDIA SCHEME. With its success, the second season is launched. Like in the first edition, in this edition too 20 webinars will be held at regular intervals.

All the 20 webinars were structured to offer dream come true feelings to participants. It was mostly held every week. Each webinar showcase a Business model by an eminent expert from the relevant field.

Banker connected in every session, enlightened the budding entrepreneurs on the banking norms and the requisites of the Stand Up India scheme from the Banker's perspective.
