HRS celebrates Conclusion of 7th Edition of OKKIDS Summer Camp with Graduation Run

Hyderabad, June 7, 2026: Hyderabad Runners Society (HRS) organized the Graduation Run of the 7th Edition of OKKIDS Summer Camp at the Telangana State Forest Academy, Dulapally, bringing together over 1,000 children and their families in a celebration of physical literacy, fitness, and outdoor activity.
The OKKIDS Summer Camp held in summer engaged over 1,000 children from different parts of Hyderabad in a structured six-week program designed to develop fundamental movement skills, fitness, confidence, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits through outdoor learning and play.
To celebrate the concluding, it organised a Graduation Run which was flagged off by Mr. B. Venkataswara Rao, Dy. Conservator of Forests / DDO, Telangana State Forest Academy, Dulapally, Hyderabad, in the presence of Hyderabad Runners Society office bearers Prashant Morparia, Madhumathi Sanjay, Anil Kuppa, Ashish Bhojania, Ajit Mishra, and Ram Katikineni.
A unique feature of the event was the participation of mothers through Active Moms, a Hyderabad Runners Society program that encourages mothers to embrace fitness and actively participate alongside their children. The Graduation Run witnessed enthusiastic participation from both children and mothers, reinforcing the importance of family involvement in building healthy and active lifestyles.
The event also welcomed 400 government school children as part of Hyderabad Runners Society's Project Champion initiative. Through Project Champion, HRS is committed to promoting physical literacy among children from underserved communities and creating opportunities for them to experience the benefits of structured physical activity and sports.

The event also included children from two NGO partners, Kadam Charitable Trust and Safee Foundation. Children from the Mir Alam Eidgah running community, along with their mothers, participated in the celebrations, making it a truly inclusive gathering that brought together children, families and communities to celebrate fitness, wellbeing and the spirit of running.
Speaking on the occasion, Hyderabad Runners Society representatives emphasized the importance of physical literacy as a foundation for lifelong health and well-being. They highlighted how programs such as OKKIDS, Active Moms, and Project Champion are helping build stronger families and healthier communities through movement and outdoor activity.
